Photography I have a question: for a wedding is a better film or digital?

Questions photography: for a wedding is a movie or digital better sister? I was married in 2005 and used the film because she told the photographer that if something happened to a roll of film that would was around 15 images, but if something happened to the digital photography that would be it. Has anyone heard of this and Weddng what about 2009? Movie -. specific or digital? Additional details should perhaps have been more I think the issue is that the film if a roll of film is lost or damaged, 12-15 images are lost or damaged. But if digital then, if the memory card (I guess) is lost or damaged in 50 or 100 or 200 or more images are lost or damaged. So I wonder about the film versus digital question. Can people please give me their opinions for a wedding in 2009? Thanks.

Is definitely best to hire a photographer for the event. In general, do not use digital cameras for this sort of thing, and if they do are often really expensive. Using normal digital camera doesn't have that "intimate" look that most couples go. I wouldnt worry about losing the pictures as the main problem … what is the probability that something will go wrong? I actually prefer the movie of this sort of thing, and then get developed in a good place where they realllllly sizes great and all. However, it is best to call a photographer to take pictures for you. The pictures are great and usually have a money back guarantee.

questions for professionals and people into photography?

Why do people looking for photographers only pick photographers with fancy exspenive cameras or photographers with background shooting the said subject. Like for example, someone looking for wedding photos usually pick someone with background shooting weddings. Why? Isn’t someone who has experience doing portraitures who charges $2,000 less just as good? Why do people outside of photography think the camera is key? Isn’t skill the best?

sure hire a plumber (someone that owns a spanner) to fix your car and see what the results are like

Question about wedding reception photography?

The story behind this is a little long, but I’ll try to give you the short version. Basically, two friends of mine got married in Vegas and are going to have a ‘wedding reception’. They’ve hired me as the photographer, and I want to make sure they have as many pictures as they would have had for a wedding and reception. Can anyone suggest poses that will ensure they get several more pictures than someone would normally have for a reception? I already know that they want lots of family pictures, and of course I’ll take the traditional cake pictures and the toast. But what else?
Ivor, I forgot to mention that we’re actually in Georgia, so we’re no where near Vegas, and they aren’t having the reception at a religious facility, so there’s no brial suite per se.

Shooting the party is quite different from shooting the wedding. They are almost always more candid and PJ and less formal. It will be more problematic to gather the friends and family together for formal posed portraits. I’d have a deep discussion with the couple before the event to see exactly what they mean by “family pictures”. If they really want some formal groups, you will need a wrangler to gather the various combinations together. Scout the location for a pleasing spot.

If they do not have good photos of their actual wedding, I would suggest doing a separate couple shoot some time before the reception, in time to get a print made and framed for the party. They can dress in their wedding garb if they want, or you can treat it like an engagement shoot.

The shots you will get at the reception are rather dependent on what events they have planned and the audience and guests. Cake cutting, garter toss etc. Dancing? Will it be a genteel afternoon affair with elderly aunts and kids, or is it a bash for their college buddies? I find that once any serious drinking starts, the photo ops go way down. So plan on getting the good stuff early.
