wedding photography question?

my dads friend is getting married in june and she asked me to take pictures. now being a 16 year old i dont kno much about weddings. any tipss.
have a great camera..
my dad and i might get a second just incase anything happens to mine.
i will use adobe photoshop cs2 after all the pics are taken.

Get your dad to take long shoot pictures and you can do close up pictures or things that are more detail. So both of you get various kind of pics.

Make sure you hold the camera steadily and when you edit the picture in photoshop, you could take away the bride’s weight with liquify tool or masking and she will love the result. and bring with you an extra memory card (with big capacity) try to take pictures as many as you could!

Just have fun and let your creativity flows in you, I’m sure when they asked you to take their wedding pic (regardless your age) that’s because they like your style.

Here’s a link to a 19 years old professional photographer that makes awesome pictures, hopefully it can give you encouragement to take more pictures…

Photography questions!!?

Okay, I’m getting married next August 2 (I’m so excited!!!!!) and I have already got a lot of things booked and ready to go. I like to get things done.

Anyway, one thing I haven’t done is hire a photographer. I want pictures, LOTS of pictures, to remember this wedding by. I am definitely a picture person. I want to make sure I get the best deal for the best price.

SO, what kind of questions do I need to ask when interviewing photographers? What are ways that they rip you off? How can I avoid being ripped off?

Just tell me everything you think I need to know. Because that is one thing that I know nothing about. And if there is one thing that has to go right at my wedding, it is the photography!

Anyway, all advice and suggestions welcome! Thanks!

As a wedding photographer, i agree with you. It is possible to find a bad one. Interview them and ask questions. (there are alot of websites out there with question sheets). Ask to see a recent wedding. (not just their “demo”) usually a demo is their BEST work. you want to see there normal week to week work. But, I will tell you this, budget some money in for a videographer. Use some of the photo money to hire a prof video guy. Video is becoming just as important if not more important than pictures. Wouldn’t you like to see and hear your vows and watch your first dance, rather that just have a freeze frame of it.
Hope this helps. Email me if you need more advice.

Questions Ask Your CT Wedding Photographer #1

Good wedding poses with a flat surface? (I hope this makes sense!)?

This question probably belongs more in the photography category, but honestly, I’ve gotten too many rude answers there so I’d rather ask here.

I am an amateur wedding photographer and recently shot a wedding where there were no steps in the church… I mean, the way it was all set-up, there was no place for anyone in the wedding party to stand but the floor. (There was no raised up part that the preacher would normally stand on, nothing).

They were all about the same height, so I had trouble getting good shots for the group photos.

What are some good wedding poses for this situation?

(I like candids better but the bride wanted group shots of everyone).
Oh, and links would be helpful :)

Do you have something that you can stand on? A chair? Ladder?
Maybe if you took a shot angled from above you could get a nice group shot of everyone….like this:

You could also have the bridal party form a “V” pattern to get a good shot of everyone:

Maybe you could do something like this where the bride is sitting on the grooms knee and the rest of the bridal party poses around them:

For the rest of the shots you might just have to place them in a single file line in order to get everyone in the picture. Just pose them like you would pose a bridal party standing on a flat golf course:
