Photography Software For Beginners
Nikon D90 or D3100 best for stop motion animations, beginner photography & movies?
I currently use iStopMotion 2 for animations so I needed to get a camera that could work with it so I initially was going to use the d90 because it has been tested more times and by the makers of the software to make sure it works compared to the d3100 that has been tested only 15 times! But I also make live action movies so I need a camera that has high quality movie recordings…which I believe the d3100 does and I am also a beginner photographer!!
The D90 is a more robust camera which was replaced recently by the D7000
The D3100 is an entry level dSLR and like the D7000 shoots Full HD video. The D90 was the first dSLR to have a video feature, but only shoots in the standard HD video mode
Here is a sample video from the Nikon D7000 camera
It shows what you can do with the D7000 and a good script
There are NO “beginner” dSLR’s. They all work the same whether you spend $700 or $8,000 for the camera.
What you are calling “stop motion” is probably what is known as animation something any dSLR can do. Live action is really what any video camera can do.
If you really, really need high quality video, then you need a real video camera like a 3-CCD Panasonic P2 video camera

The images are loaded trying the application, which then merges the images .
Many photographers are interested in purchasing an HDR application that enables them to obtain the mostdramatic effect with their photographs . For some, that drama is achieved in the sharp clearly of detail. For others that impact is obtained by taking an photograph and working it beyond the rule, forming the photograph intensely natural. It is vital that the application is able to control photographs in a wide range of formats. Digital cameras are designed to do few photograph processing during capture. For image shooter using a electronic SLR imaging device, choosing the RAW configuration reduces that ‘on camera working to a least, enabling the image shooter to work with the maximum amount of data gathered during capture. Both the capacity to simply amp up the contrasts and the dark shades for vivid and surrealeffects, and the capacity to obtain genuine photographs with an incomparable range of details are importantl . Photographs in common are moderately big files, henceit is vital for the application to have the ability to process these large photographs in a suitable manner. An other attractive characteristic is the gate way to tutorials, enabling the consumer a sight into the elements offered. It is also nice to have gate way to a trial access, allowing a image shooter to obtain a true feel for how the application is built.
Aninterestingplayer in the HDR software area is HDR Darkroom. (www.hdrdarkroom.com).
HDR Darkroom incorporates all the importantl HDR tools, but speaks one feature in a moderately distinct manner. Using two original tone mapping sciences, the application is very adept at polishing in on the particulars of an image. This software offers Local Tone Balancer, for balancing shadows and bright shades, and Local Tone Enhancer for pulling out the intricate details. Every allows the photographer to play with a diversity of parameters to achieve the desiredresults. The software’s default values create huge photographs , perfect for those staring for a extra automated approach, but for the photographer staring for drama, the capacity to manipulate the parameters enables for attractively surreal results. In addition, this product offers an alignment feature, as a fail-safe if the photographer was not using a tripod, or managed to move a bit whilst making the many images . (But use of a tripod is suggested for best, excellent results.) what kind of digital imaging software should i get?
im a somewhat beginner photographer with interest in learning alot more in photography. maybe even professionally. can someone recommend good digital imaging software for me? i been thinking about getting photoshop elements 5.0. is that any good? thanks!
Photoshop elements is an excellent choice. If someday you wish for more power, you can always upgrade to the full blown photoshop and you will already know, mostly, how to use the software. Learning photoshop isn’t intuitively obvious- it will take some time. But- it’s well worth it.
For basic handling and management and simple changes, I’d also suggest the aforementioned Picasa2 from google. Not just because it’s free- but because it’s fast and easy to use.

Basic Photography Tips and Tricks using Your PC at Home – Learn to Add the ‘Oomph’ Factor to Your Great Photos!
If one were to go through the history of photography and image editing, it would be quite interesting to know that ‘enhancing’ an image has always been done ever since the technology of photography evolved. In days when huge portraits of kings and queens were made, things were not too different.
The Idea of Image Editing
When man invented colors, he found himself writing and painting. Painting is even more primitive than the art of writing. Paintings discovered from the pre-historic sites suggest all this and more. Paintings were an effective medium of transmitting the history of ages back then. Writing evolved much later. When painting developed to an extent where an exact portrait of an individual could be made, then started the real work of image editing. Contradictions between what texts mention and what paintings portray – are the reasons as why it was deciphered that image editing took place in the early days. Some rulers and kings would deliberately order their court painters to remove any physical abnormality in the painting that was otherwise present in real. It was the first known ‘Photoshop(ping)’! The ‘editing’ of the image was discovered when they were compared with the texts which revealed that the king had a visible physical defect, which was surprisingly missing from the portrait!
Perhaps it is the want of looking beautiful that humans have always strived to create ‘perfect’ templates of themselves through image editing and enhancing. Fast forward to the age when camera was invented – even after the photograph was developed, little touches were given to them to help ‘finish’ the photograph. Earlier days, black and white photography prevailed and hence giving finishing touches to the pictures was a little easier. After reading this, such painters would vehemently contest their work, though!
Then came the digital age and further improvement of photography was apparent. Computers were used to make software that would help professionals work on images and edit them the way they wanted to. Graphics and editing became a full-fledged career. And it is no secret today that even the top professional photographers in the world use image-editing software.
Adding the ‘Oomph’ Factor
If you always wondered on seeing high-resolution crystal clear photographs in magazines and on the internet that perhaps that was a work of a master photographer, then you should know that the master photographers are also master image editors! There is no doubt about the fact that some images are just too good to be true, however most of the editing work is done in portrait based photos! Sexy and glamorous looking models with a perfect skin (apparently) might not be so in real life! It is just the work of the image editor. From removing deformities to changing the skin ‘shade’, it is all the work of a mouse button now! There are online tutorials available on the same and it is just time that you also learned the intricacies of adding the ‘x-factor’ in your photos!
