How do I create a flash website? Or just a website in general… step by step?

I want to create a flash website, but I’m pretty much clueless & broke. I’m confused about some things… I know I need a domain name, site host & template… is that even right?? I need the site to display photography, so it’s minimal wording. I want something similar to livebooks.com sites, very simple. Also, I guess I don’t really need flash but then I’d need to have right-click disabled because I don’t want my work stolen.

I did some research on the internet, but it’s so confusing & overwhelming. If anyone knows what I should be doing, step by step, I’d be grateful for any info!

You can instantly set up a variety of image galleries if you sign up at Hostamina.com. I would highly recommend them.

You should avoid hosts that offer “unlimited” space/bandwidth as this is somewhat of a scam. You should also avoid hosts that offer ridiculous amounts of space/bandwidth, such as 10GB space for only $5/month. Hosts like this overload and oversell servers, and are bad news for anyone who wants reliability.

You should also avoid answers here that send you to review sites, as those sites make money off commissions and rank hosts based on how much money they’ll get paid, not on how good they are. You should avoid answers here that look like they are affiliate links as well, for the same reason.

Hostamina.com is exactly what you need. Support is great! They will help you set up your website, and they will provide you with any help you need. Note that I am not using an affiliate link or sending you to a review site.

Yola Silver – the powerful new premium website building package

Yola Silver – the powerful new premium website building package

Yola has released its most powerful website building subscription package – Yola Silver. Replacing Yola Pro, the current premium subscription, this new package contains all the existing features, with very worthwhile additions.

More features – same price

A Yola Silver subscription carries the same annual price of $49.95/year – and its extra features offer more value for money to both new and existing Yola customers.

Yola Silver gives you more control over your domain, with a credit for a custom domain name and private registration. You won’t have to pay separately for your domain – it’s all included. And if you’ve already bought a domain name, you can use this credit to extend your domain subscription instead.

A Yola premium style credit comes with the Yola Silver package and you’ll be able to create up to 25 different websites – each with 25 GB of storage space.

Your website will also no longer have to carry a Yola link at the bottom – all the branding on your website is yours alone.

Packed with extra value

Yola Silver users will get valuable one-time bonuses, plus design and stock photography credits.

These include advertising credits with Facebook and Yahoo!, to help increase your website’s visibility and return on investment. Stock photography is now available from Fotolia (with 10 free credits), and a partnership with HP gives you a $50 HP Logomaker credit. Create a professional logo with which to build your brand recognition.

Good news for existing Yola customers

If you have a Yola Pro subscription, you won’t lose out on Yola Silver: you’ll receive an automatic free upgrade, plus an extra 1-year domain credit.

whats a good place to host images?

Hi I’m putting together a website to feature my artwork and photography. It’s going to be on tumblr, but using all my html rather than one of their templates. I’ve been using photobucket, but it seems rather unreliable as it changes the quality of the pictures, only allows me to upload jpegs (i’d prefer tiff files) and won’t allow me to upload really hi res photos (I need them to be quite large). Also, a few times I have had photos deleted as it’s flagged as inappropriate content (some of my images contain sort of explicit material) If anyone knows a reliable host then please let me know, thankyou!
also, if you use deviant art, will it link directly back to the deviant art profile or anything like that? or can i literally just have one and use it as if it is a photobucket if that makes sense.

quickpic.info is great. It’s known mainly for it’s speed and light weight. It suits my needs perfectly and is extremely reliable. No bandwidth limits or nothing. Very trustworthy & recommended.

Creating a photography website from a template…?

I would really like to know how, but I have almost no experience with any kind of programming or code. This is what I have http://activeden.net/item/elegant-photography-template/39455
I just have a whole lot of files in the folder with file types that open in dream weaver and adobe flash and stuff. I have a domain name, but I really don’t know what to do. Do I need my own hosting? Is it a realistic goal for me to use the template? Help!

You can upload your template to your hosting account and get it hosted at yur dmain name.

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex: www.yahoo.com). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BH web hosting which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.

You can reach reviews about this web hosting provider and its latest DISCOUNT COUPONS at:

http://www.threehosts.com/reviews/1st

Only $3.95 /month (with discount coupon).

They also offer “Free Site Builder” that helps you build your web pages without difficulty if you are not skilled in using any website creating program (WYSIWYG: What You See Is What You Get). You can use this service optionally. You can also create the pages offline with your favorite program (DreamWeaver, FrontPage, Microsoft Publisher, iWeb etc.), and then upload them to your web host. This is another easy way to get your website online.

******IMPORTANT********
* This service was awarded the “Best Web Hosting OF The Year”.
* If you sign up for this service you will have $75 credits to advertise your website with the google & yahoo search engines for free!
* You Can Register A Free Domain or Use Your Existing Domains. They Support All Domain Names.
