Photography Business Software
I want to start a business with photography but what program should i use?

I use a Nikon D60. but I still need some kind of software to make my pictures more nicer looking and get them to sell.

The best programs are by SCORE and PPA.

They’re more like guidelines than rules really.

It wouldn’t hurt to checkout BBB and SBA for tips as well.

Photography Business – How to Make yourself worth your fee

Being Worth Your Fee Means Becoming A Master Of All Aspects Of The Business.

Consider what should go through a professional photographer’s head when on location with a teenager who is looking for a series of creative senior portraits: What can I say to make the subject relax? Where is the light coming from? How can I be creative with this session? What unusual props are nearby? Where are the best background opportunities? Does the shot need backlighting? Are there unwanted shadows created under the nose, eyes, or immediately behind the subject? Are the hands and fingers posed correctly? Is there enough space around the subject in the frame? Is the subject too close to the background? Should the background be thrown out of focus by using shorter depth of field? Should the subject smile? Is the camera focusing correctly? It looks like the subject is losing interest. What can I say to engage her? Is her necklace straight? What can I do to have the photo “tell a story”? How about shooting at a different angle? Up? Down? She is wearing a white blouse with a dark skirt. Which should be metered?

There are countless factors, all vital, that have to be processed in split seconds when shooting. Knowing this, and being able to process it all on the spot, is what makes you worth what you are charging for your professional work.

Of course, that’s just the start of the list. You must also know how to work well with your client. You must know presentation and sales techniques. You must understand finances. You must master editing software. Basically, being worth your fee means becoming a master of all aspects of the business.

All the necessary elements can be overwhelming at first. If you are just getting into the business, don’t become discouraged. It will take time and effort on your part. Even if you’re a long-time professional, there are probably areas of your business that you know in the back of your head could use improvement. Maybe you’ve neglected your marketing or not kept up on the latest developments in post-processing. It can be hard to keep pushing yourself year after year, but it’s important to identify areas where you can improve and begin working on them.

I want to start a photography business…?

I want to start a photography/videography with my mother in law. What are some good sites to look at for software and equipment? And any advice on events we should do besides weddings?
How much should we charge?

You should visit your local photographer and ask them ?? they don’t mind and sometime they will ask if you want to come on a shoot. And others things grads, showers, christmas partys there are lots of things ,I thing you should think about living wills you could set up something were people could tell their familys and friend things they want them to no and every couple of years they could add to it, and on their passing it could be delivered to whoever and however many they wanted, I think you get the idea I think it would be great for all concearned and price would vary on what they wanted to do and how much…Good Luck…And I think a good name would be Always With You
