What are the best books of photography beginners?

I recently took the photograph and the desire to study further. I have a Nikon D40 and wondered if anyone could suggest any good books on photography techniques?

For the best books, check out these two links. Http: / / cameras.about.com/od/digitalcamera101/tp/beginnerbooks.htm … Http: / / www.squidoo.com / digital-photography-books … You'll find some good information and links in this response. There are plenty of great camera tips in these three links. # Resolution http://www.danscamera.com/Learning/going_digital/ … http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=38/10468/6368/333&pq-locale=en_US … Http: / / www.videojug.com / interview / digital-camera-picture-quality # what-determines-the-quality-of-a-digital photos … See this camera. FUJIFILM – FinePix 10.0-megapixel Digital. This is more camera for the money. Wide angle shooting, a 12x optical zoom and image stabilization mode combine in this camera for operation exceptional shot, even from a distance. Plentiful scene modes, autofocus and automatic controls for white balance make this camera easy to operate. Life time warranty (parts and labor). You may be able to find on the internet for a lower price ($ 144), but beware of the seller. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8879234&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat152400050001&id=1212192673855 … This could be the best slim line camera. I suggest you find one that also has an optical viewfinder because the LCD is almost impossible to see in bright sun. Higher mega pixels may not really be the best thing to look for. It is more expensive, takes longer to process, and can not be necessary unless you are making a very large picture or blowing up a small part of an image. http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=398&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=2039 … a lot of great camera tips in these two links. http://www.danscamera.com/Learning/going_digital/ Resolution # Http: / / www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=38/10468/6368/333&pq-locale=en_US … … Information about the camera is just to show that you don 'I do not need bigger and better. Just know how to use it has. My camera has 5.2 mega pixels, but I use 3 most of the time because it gives great results, is faster and requires less memory. In addition, only a 3 x optical zoom and 7x digital zoom. Never use the digital zoom because the images as large works best on the team. This is an old camera, but everyone is impressed with the quality of the images you need … like magic. Check with the Geeks in several stores and compare prices. Ask what cameras they own. Once to select a camera read all about it in the owner manual. Home links shown most cameras out there with prices and help their digital cameras work better.

Is this a good idea for an aspiring photographer to read the technical aspects of photography books?

I just read on some photographers as Diane Arbus, who did not even know about things like exposure, aperture and diaphragm. You think it's a good investment of time for a candidate photographer to read technical books on photography? Or do you think it is better to just get out and shoot?

I think your source of Diane Arbus has been very misinformed. Many people seem to think so "… just go out and shoot …" will somehow make a good photo. Of course, with this logic, it is possible you will take 300 pictures ugly and have no idea why these pictures are bad. It where the "art" part comes into play (one person one said here that if you took 100 photos and has a good were happy. Talk about low expectations! honestly I think you get similar results if you just give the camera to a chimpanzee.) If you do not know and understand the triangle of exposure ISO, shutter speed and aperture, so how can you control your image making? Sure, you can configure your device photo in the EI program and let them make decisions about opening and the camera but how can know the effect you are trying to accomplish? Not at all. You can not. The cameras are boxes just stupid. If you do not understand how aperture and focal length are used to produce the depth of field (DOF), or a deep DOF then how to isolate the subject from the background? How to ensure that all 3 'in front of the camera to infinity is in focus? (Depth of field is defined as the area of acceptable focus in front of and behind the subject). If you do not understand the role of the shutter speed, then how do you use to stop the motion or allow the subject to be a somewhat blurred to show motion? If you do not know how to choose ISO affects both the shutter speed and aperture and image quality then how will you know what ISO to use on a sunny day? For sports and action? For the best possible picture quality? Without a good technical knowledge of photography, how to know what to do when are confronted with scenes that are not in the middle and that makes the camera meter for an exposure to evil? Suppose you have a taxable benefit on a light background and do not want a silhouette? What if the topic is on a dark background frontlit? If you rely on your camera will be disappointed. The theme to be a correct exposure. Suppose that the scene is white sand or snow. Let the camera decide meters of sand and snow white or gray. They must also know and understand the "rules of composition." Knowing that you make your images more interesting. You know that do not center your subject. Can you keep an empty space to a minimum. Do you know how to check the background so you can delete the "growth" trees in someone's head. You know how to remove OT at least minimize distracting background. Of course, knowing the "Rules" and then allowed to break when their creative impulses ignore them. So yes, we have the technical knowledge required. Without it is just a snapshooter. Point. Shoot. Hope. With it, you're on your way to be a photographer. Up. Shoot. Knowledge. For the record, almost always a kick because I preferred many degrees of freedom and I know that the lenses are designed to give your Top results from f5.8 to f11. I look at the shutter speed to ensure it is too slow to show restraint. "The pictures are not taken, done." Ansel Adams "Best wide-angle lens? Two steps back. Search for "The" ah-ha. "Ernst Haas
