Help with my digital camera “selective focus”?

like that ^ ^ ^
I have a samsung SL202 10.2 megapixel
Is it even possible to get a picture where you focus on one thing and have the rest blurred?
please explain it to me really carefully because i will get lost if there are photography vocabulary.
Probably not with your camera. You don’t have an aperture priority setting, just scene modes. Your lens has a variable aperture of 2.8-5.2, which means you might be able to manage it in the wide angle setting, but probably not with telephoto. It won’t happen in any bright light scenes, so try outdoors in the shade, and keep the background as far away from your subject as you can.

What does the following Photography Vocabulary mean:?
Leading lines, Repetitive Lines, S-curve, Border, Object?
Leading lines are lines (usually in pespective) that lead you through the picture. Railroad tracks usually create this sense. They are the first thing that you look at when you see the picture and they guide you (like a tourguide) through it.
Repetitive lines are the ones that create a pattern or a rhythm. They could be the shadows from the window’s blinds.
S-curve is used in photo editing programs to control the contrast, “levels” are also used for this. By moving the line in certain ways the levels of contrast of the picture change.
Border..that’s either the edge of the picture or the edge of two objects that meet.
Object is what you are taking the picture of. It could be a flower, it could be a tree, it could be anything you want it to be. It’s the main focus of your picture, or your composition. Hope this helps…everyone else seems to be hatin’.
