Photography Order Form
Do I not fill out my UCAS application form this year?
I need to do an Art Foundation in order to do Photography.
The UCAS application form they are getting us to do at school is for 2010 entry but I can’t start Photography then and to do an Art Foundation I have to contact the college/uni myself as they don’t do it through UCAS and have different application forms.
Is there anyway I can delay the application form?
Thanks for your help.
Have you tried speaking to some at school/6th form about this? Like your head of year/director of 6th form maybe.
I don’t know if this would work but you can defer entries once you have a place, in other words you keep your place but start the course in 2011 – which would give you time to do the year art foundation degree. But you might have to leave it and do it next year if you need the degree on your application to Uni when you send it. Either way you need to find out soon so it doesn’t become more of a worry in september.

What do you think is better, digital or film photography (please answer if you are qualified)?
I’m a senior in high school and for a project (in order to graduate) I need a direct source in a form of an interview, and if you are willing and qualified (study photography, photography profession, etc) and would like to take a minute to answer a few questions for me that would be amazing. All I need basically is your opinion on film and digital cameras, art, photographers, etc just comparing digital and film or what you prefer and why. It is all opinion based and no one is going to see this except for my teachers at school, so it won’t be published or anything. I just need someone qualified, and I have resulted to asking here because I don’t know anyone who I could interview.
(I’m not sure how legitimate this will turn out to be, but I’m willing to try haha)
Just respond on here and I’ll contact you immediately on here.
Thank you, if you would like to know more detail about what I am doing go ahead and ask. Thank you if you help me!
I’m 21, and throughout high school and for a year after all I did was use film.
I have since switched to digital, and I love both, though now I use digital more than film. There’s nothing like the anticipation you feel just before your photos are developed. Likewise, there’s nothing like being able to see the effects of what you’re doing right then and there and letting your creativity flow in programs such as lightroom and photoshop.
They both have their place. Some people prefer to grain and look of film (and also having that tangible negative instead of a digital file). Some prefer instant gratification and digital manipulation. Film undergoes manipulation as well, but unless you have your own darkroom you’re not the one doing the manipulation, the lab is.
Personally I prefer digital now most of the time. I never was good at going to get film processed. And being able to process and stretch my photos to the vision I had in mind is really great. Digital just seems to make being creative easier in many cases. But I don’t think my photos would be half what they are if I hadn’t started in film.
