Photography Of People At Work
How can I get someone to confess?
I had slept over at my friend’s house the on Friday so we both could do downtown for a bit on Saturday. Since I love photography, I brought my camera along. After the trip downtown, I went right to my work. I only work for 4 hours, and in that time span, my camera was stolen. (it was in my backpack, and you couldn’t see it in there) I realized this after I got home, and I did call my manager and tell her about it. I don’t think they can really do much about it, though. (obviously)
There were only six other people working with me at the time (minus the manager) and I know that it was 1 of three (at least two) of those people.
How can I get them to confess or at least get a hint that they stole it without being really conspicuous about it?
Torture them.

Why are phtotographers or artists far more critical when it comes to other peoples works?
I am researching on photography at the moment and found some websites where beginners posted their photos…however the critics of “professionals” were sometimes very harsh and unfair…Most of these pictures where beautiful..(ok, I am not a professional)… But if I go into photography and take pictures for or of people who are not professionals either (that’s why they need someone to do it) and they love the shots – what’s the big deal and why do I need the “advise” or critics of someone who thinks who knows it better for goddness sake?
Jealousy.
I once gave a painting to a charity auction at a fair and watched as the other local artist said how rubbish my work was and he kept on turning my painting over so that no one could view it to place bids on it.
After he ranted at a group of people including me about how rubbish my work was I stepped forward, turned my painting over and said ‘I can take constructive criticism but your comments are a personal attack on the artist and you obviously don’t know them or you would have realised it was me’
He went bright red and mumbled an apology as everyone laughed and my painting had a record number of bids while his had none.
I did once have a nasty comment directed at my work on my website that made me give up painting for a few days until my husband pointed out that it was not constructive criticism.
The rule of thumb is that anyone can give constructive criticism – they don’t have to be professional to give good advice -and you can learn a lot from it – I do.
But remember that professionals can also become jealous but those comments are obvious as they don’t contain any advice on how to improve.
If I see a photograph or painting that takes my breath away I don’t care if the person is amateur or proffessional I will let them know how they made me feel – and I will only criticise if I have some advice on how someone can improve but I am never bitchy.
I agree with you though – us Artists can be very emotional we can’t always take criticism well so be gentle with us….. lol

Cities work together to keep shoppers local
Steve Carlson used to never give a second thought about leaving the Pass area and heading out to Redlands to dine out and go shopping. Having lived in Redlands, he was familiar with restaurants there, and was comfortable with dropping by Walmart in that city before coming back home.
