Can anyone help me find a 35mm camera with built-in light meter, adjust the shutter speed and aperture and manual focus?
Can anyone help me find a 35mm camera with built-in light meter, adjust the shutter speed and aperture and manual focus? I have no idea of what I'm looking for online. I'm taking a photography class and want to get a decent camera. What is a good shutter speed?
Pentax Minolta SRT-202 K1000 Canon FTb Any camera with a 50mm f1.7 lens will serve you well for your class. All three are 100% manual which will set the interval aperture and shutter speed based on built-in camera meter. Focus is manual. You must have the owner's manual for any camera you purchase. The list of all the cameras have a maximum shutter speed of 1 / 1000 sec. You will soon realize that for the daily use of speed Shutter will be between 1 / 125 sec. occasionally 1 / 500 sec.

How do I calculate light meter settings for a camera obscura?
Proper exposure is crucial to pinhole photography. Obviously, the film speed is easy to set (and focal length is easy enough to figure out), but how do you determine the aperture setting?
F-number is the focal length divided by the pinhole diameter. The “focal length” is the distance between the pinhole and the film. You can measure the pinhole diameter with a strong magnifier and a reticle, or check out a clever solution here:

With digital photography do you think the need for light meters with strobes is being eliminated?
I know I can get my light ratios for portraits with a grey card or a zebra card and can fine tune when shooting tethered to a laptop with the program I use. Currently I am only usig my meter to get me in the “ballpark”. How has digital effected your use of your meter?
I’m so bad about using it since going digital, I still love how film looks and thinking about going back for awhile so I can take shots that are truly my own
