Photography Information For Beginners
photography for beginners?
okay, so i love love loveeee to take pictures, but just snapping with a digital camera and editing on the computer. but i think its really fun, and i would really like to get into photography seriously. only problem is i have no idea where to start. at my school, theres no photography class, or any kind of lessons or anything like that near by, so, i am basically asking for anykind of website with good and helpful information for beginners.
also, what is a good not overly expensive camera for a beginner?
thank you for any helppp!!! (:
yes i am quite aware there is a google search engine, but i decided to try here, because there are people on here that maybe experts, or they may know a website that has good information so i dont have to to go searching through google results, because i just dont know where to start.
Here is my favorite link for beginners:

There are many other good sites, this one is outstanding for forums, galleries and learning. Although you may find much of it to be aimed at more advanced photographers,, a lot can be gleaned just by visiting the galleries.

Also a visit to your local library or bookstore will turn up good reading for beginners.
It is much harder to recommend a camera. We all used to learn on 35mm film SLR’s, often with a 50mm standard lens which are still plentiful and moderately priced for nice used equipment. You are probably thinking of digital. If a digital SLR is beyond your means, you can get a comfortable start with a quality digicam with manual control. The major camera companies, Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and the Panasonic Lumix, all make such a compact camera. You can read reviews and such at www.dpreview.com. I might just think about getting the Canon Powershot that was in my budget and had manual options. Hard to go far wrong with those little Powershots, and I say that even though I am a Nikon shooter in film and dSLR! For dSLR, the choices are entry level Nikon D40 and D5000, the Canon Rebel, Sony and Olympus also have an entry level dSLR. Any one would be fine. My suggestion is to visit a camera store and handle them for yourself to see what feels best in your hand. All are capable of producing good work. Nikon and Canon are the big two, more accessories and stuff readily available.
Good luck in your quest for learning, I think it is a splendid plan! Best wishes and happy shooting!

Katz walks his readers through the various stages of moviemaking, advising them at every turn to visualise the films they wish to produce. Katz believes that one of the chief tasks of filmmaking is to negotiate between our three-dimensional reality and the two-dimensionality of the screen. He cove… |

On it is a large, expertly reproduced image and a concise caption packed with information about the photographer and his or her work. The coincidental … |
