Where can I find a cheap / free place to build a photography site? Would like galleries…?

I would like to build a small site that showcases a few photo galleries on line, small bio, stuff like that. Nothing very extravagent. Who do you suggest to host? I have no html experience, so I would need something easy with templates maybe?

Web Design and hosting…?

I am looking for a good (preferably free) web editing software that I can download. I’m in a web design class, but I don’t know what to use. I’m not looking to major in web design, I just wanted to learn a little something about it for now. I was thinking KompoZer.
If it helps, the kind of page I want to make will focus on photography. I don’t really want a WYSIWYG type of editor, but I can’t be too picky because I have no idea what I’m doing nor do I have the time to sit there and hand code/ edit.
