Does anyone in this photography forum have any experience of micro (not just macro) photography?
I’d be interested in finding out more about it, I did biology in college, and worked in a lab for a short time, so know my way around a microscope to a degree, but have never done any photography of that kind. I would love to be able to combine these interests, and would appreciate any good advice. Thank you
).
I have done a little bit while researching and photographing coin varieties.
This was back in 1990-1994 using film. I suspect digital will make it way better.
You just need a mount adapter for your dSLR that will allow it to fit into the eyepiece of the microscope. You will want a microscope that is able to shine light on the subject if need be as well as through it for maximum flexibilty. Coins are not transparent as many interesting subjects are not.

could you tell me some famous or friendly photography forums?
Hi, all.
I am a new photoman, and photography is my hobby.
Now, I buy a digital camera Nikon D90 and I want to record my life by using the beautiful or artistic photos.
So could you tell me some famous or friendly photography forums where I can upload my photos and talk about how to create the artistic photos?
Thank you again~~
Some of my favorite photography forums are:
1–DPReview. http://www.dpreview.com/ This website has excellent forums for everything from the beginner to the professional. They also have forums based on brand of camera and even forums for retouching photos. You can learn a tremendous amount by following these forums and being inspired by the awesome photos posted there. Most of the members are helpful in offering tips and explaining techniques so it would be a great place to learn how to get the most from your Nikon camera. Also for making artistic photos be sure to check out their retouching forum. It has some very talented photoshop experts sharing photos and tips on it.
2. Fred Miranda Forums—http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/ These forums are seperated by subject such as people, landscape, nature, sports, etc. You will find a lot of talented photographers sharing pictures and tips. These forums are an excellent resource and inspiration because of the amazing photos you will find posted there.
These are my two favorites. Check them out…I think you will enjoy them.
