What’s the best museum in nyc for vintage photography?

I’ve been to MOMA (loved their photo exhibit) and I’ve heard mixed reviews about the International Center of Photography, so is there any other places to go around the city for vintage, amazing photography? Anything that features new york in the 70′s?

photography exhibits in nyc?

does anybody know of any good photography exhibits that are currently up in nyc? thanks!

The best guide is http://www.photographmag.com/.

My experience is that the area between 10th and 11th avenues, from 21st to about 27th street, has more photography galleries per square mile than anywhere else in the world. Just walk around, popping into galleries to see what they are showing.

MOMA always has a good show, as does ICP. But they tend to be fairly predictable, if not even stuffy.
