Am I on the right track for the Air force academy?

Hello,everyone

You got as good of a chance as anyone. But in looking at the big picture, you got a weak resume.

8 out of 300. Small high school. So no JR ROTC unit. Many applicants to the academies did 4 years of JR ROTC and have a recommendation from the Commander.

No political activities? Had you helped with your Senator’s or Congressman’s election in 2008 it would have helped you get their attention. They are the guys who make the appointments you know.

You omitted to mention your Writing score on your SAT. The average score for each of the three sections is 500, for an average total of 1500. So basically what you are saying is your SAT scores do not match your GPA. That could really be a problem. SAT scores compare you to students across the nation, not just your school.

While 8 out of 300 is good, that shows you went to a very small high school. Small high schools tend not to have a lot of advanced classes. If your GPA is based upon things like Wood Working and Auto Shop, it is not going to help you much.

64 hours of volunteer work at a hospital. Come on, that is a bit more than one hour a week. Some people volunteer 4-8 hours a week.

It sounds to me like you are desperate to put stuff down but spread yourself around so much do not do any one thing really well.

Where is your leadership? Student Council President? Class President? All that captain stuff with sports is not really leadership.

You definitely need a plan B. I suggest you look for a university that has an USAF ROTC unit. You can take classes the first year and after a year or two, apply for an ROTC scholarship. When you graduate you go directly into the USAF.

courses for photography, writing, or anything to do with arts and humanities.
how do I go about searching courses from university bulletin boards?

www is no longer the information highway, rather it has become the giant billboard along the highway. very little is free. what little is still free is grabbed by people who steal it, repackage it and sell for a price. end of rant.

there is no certificate available but many college professors have their entire course work available (for their students). you can find this on bulletin boards and etc. you can literally survey the complete course online. i personally did a Stanford university animation course online. (several years ago). no credit for it, but i did learn what i wanted.

I know ive asked b4, but does not really answer no! IM is obtaining funding / Subsidy course.this is the beginning of the letter – could improve / do?? thanks! Dear sir / madam, I been looking through the website of the University Open, and we found some courses, so I ask a question. I have 12 years and have an interest in photography, languages and design technology. Now I am researching the house and I am interested in taking photography as a career after finishing my post-secondary education. I found a short course on the photo you want to meet, but can not afford to do so. I know that is not complete, is the point! I do not know how to finish – it's just the intro!
