should i go to this school?
so i live in texas and im 21(fyi) and well theres this art school in california that i really wanna go to but a bachelors degree in photography will cost me $100,000. Im far from rich but i feel like all the connections are out there, but i dont know if its worth all that money…..what do yall think? Thanks!
A degree in photography isn’t worth $100 right now, let alone $100,000. If you really want to try to be a photographer then just go out there and do it. Try to get noticed and get an apprenticeship. There aren’t many jobs out there that actually pay well in photography so have a back up plan.

requirements for a photography career?
Hello, My name is jenny most call me faye. I have recently discovered that more then drawing , I love the ability capture images with a camera. I been doing a lot of looking online but I haven’t found any information on how to get a degree in the photography field in Texas and I am really interested in this. I have a niko d40 with telephoto lens and tripod along with a uv haze filter, I have taken some images already but I really want to know what do I need to take to make this a career?
Professional photographers are generally required to have their bachelor’s degree in Photography, or a closely related major (this usually includes a minimum of four photo-related courses, ie: “black and white photo,” “digital photo,” “Photo Journalism”). Freelance photographers can get away with not attending college, however they will have to work extra hard to show proficiency in their technical ability. Other photographers frequently attend vocational training programs, and other seminars on photography to keep their qualification, and knowledge of the industry sharp. Anyway road you choose to take, you must know that a good portfolio is a must. After college (and especially applying to those who do not attend college), entry-level photographers may begin as assistants to a more seasoned, or notable photographer. Subscribing to photographic newsletters, clubs, or magazines can be a good career move: Try to create contacts and friends with multiple photographers in order to have a good network for potential jobs

How can I find a paying internship or a job in the magazine industry.
I am a 24 guy from Texas and I am in search on finding a job where I can use my degree in Communications. I want to find a site where there are job postings or paying internships in the magazine industry, talent agencies, or with photography. I do have a photography background. I have looked at ED2010.com but majority of the jobs are in New York.
Does anybody have any advice or other job listings in the magazine industry that I can look for?
I am not sure if there are any jobs you are looking for specifically, but you should check out www.potfriendlyjobs.com.
