how do you keep myspace from ruining the quality of your pictures?

so i love the whole photography thing & graphic designing.
i’d say i’m pretty swell at editing pictures & such, but
when i upload them onto myspace, they’re horrible..
but for other people, they’re pictures turn out fine!
i was told to save my pictures as ‘png’ & to never
have the image to large, but that didn’t work.
anyone know?
