So Do I have a Chance?
My condition is similar to yours. I started off poorly in the beginning of high school. However, I have really shaped up. I’m a senior applying to cornell and NYU. NYU says its average gpa is a ~3.6. I scored a 2100 on the sat too but I retook it recently and am hoping for a 2250+. If your sat score is 2100 and your gpa is >3.5 I would say you have a good shot at getting into NYU and cornell may be a low reach school unless you bring your sat to >2250. Cornell’s avg. is around a 2100 assuming a 3.7/3.8 gpa. In addition, don’t forget you will need course rigor, strong extracurrics, good teacer recs, and a compelling essay. By the way, I didn’t see any ap courses in your schedule, if your school doesnt offer any thats fine but if they do, you should take advantage even if you only have your senior year to do so.

I don’t think anyone can really tell you what chance you have with an actual percentage (I would love to say, you have a 70/80 % chance, but I can’t…it’s a process that depends on so many things!)
Having participated in several college admissions processes, I can tell you that without your SAT score, all we can do is guess.
However, remember that even if you have a great record, universities like Yale get thousands of applications for a limited number of seats, so that even great applicants get rejected, not because they weren’t good enough, but because there aren’t enough seats for everyone.
I think you have a great record, and certainly your unusual background helps. I’m sure it will help you write a great essay, and I have no doubt that you appreciate your education and the opportunities you have much more than a lot of sheltered American students.
My advice is to do as well as you can on your SAT, if you can get a 1400+ I think it will help you immensely.
I would also advise you to not set your heart on just ONE particular college. If you are set on Ivy college, apply to more than one. Harvard, Columbia, Stanford, etc, are all great schools. Given your record and assuming your SAT score is good, I have almost no doubt that one of them will take you.
Best of luck!!
