How can I promote my online gallery to people who would buy my photography (for free!)?

I have just opened a photobox gallery which enables me to post my photos and let people buy them in various forms. How can I promote it (for free) so that I can possibly get some customers?

make some business cards and do the photography club circuit.
Enter lots of photography competitions to get the free exposure.
Most of the contests are free or low cost to enter. When you register incorporate your web address in the entrance information.
If you make a web site, log into www.paypal.com and add a length so that you can accept paypal payments online.
If you can go to flea markets, consider renting a booth and take some of your best matted prints to the booth with you.
Host an exhibit. In our town quite a few galleries host exhibits where artist can show off their wares. You can team up with another artist and split the rent for the evening.

List your picture online with a copyprotection thing so that people cant just print your pictures from the website for free….
also could you link it here so we can see them if this is not a violation of the yahoo rules?

GOOD LUCK!

Microstock Photography – the largest growth market for your photos

For nearly forty years I have been interested, or should I say obsessed with my camera and photography. During the last twenty years, I gained a small amount with my camera filming the strange marriage and portraits in my free time. I arrived sell my photos to magazines. Now that confidence has been a reminder, if needed.

Then, three years ago, I found a website called iStockphoto. It was a Microstock library. I thought when he was called Microstock due to poor pay for the use of their images. I did not take much notice because he had no way I sell my photographs for twenty cents. I prefer to keep on my hard drive, or so I thought.

A few months later I came across this site again. This time I was looking for inspiration in the form of ideas image. What surprises me is the number of photographers that I almost give away their images. As I am a bit of a Teacher "Stat" and wants to keep an eye on the numbers, etc. I bookmark the site to come back and check the statistics every day.

What surprised me was the number of images waiting to be examined. Then it happens, the total number of images that had been presented every major days. I thought it was time to examine more closely.

I reviewed the photos that have paid the registration and told me I could consider that if I have a better chance than that. Then it hit me .. In recent months the number of images I could have sold? If I were twenty week for downloaded files six months to twenty cents each, make hundreds four dollars. Not life changing, but the money was for nothing. No costs, no charges and I have some decent photos accumulating Sat dust on my hard drive.

If I am registered and submitted my photos. As each image was accepted, could not wait to download more. It has become my new obsession. Within a week, my hard drive was empty of images that seemed good, or rather adapted to download So I began to photograph anything and everything. When I was the day I would like to take pictures for download. If I was taking pictures I stayed at home to download. I even took my camera to work with me.

So, after three years to submit to iStockphoto, and more than nine thousand downloads pictures you know they sell month after month, year after year? Well, it's the photos I took in my own home. Forget the Yorkshire Dales and the Yorkshire coast, and as for my vacation in Florida, only sold the photographs. Images I introduced in our home kitchen radiator, fireplace surround and our white bath, Outsell all.

However, the magic of photography Microstock. Almost any item will sell if the quality is different and is well sold The main issues vary from one library to another to send them. The secret is to make a good start and make some of his photographs, provided they meet specific guidelines. Then, once accepted simply continue the show more pictures and keep shooting the presentation. You are not income-producing life changes overnight. But over a period of time who knows?

To show what I mean I got the first six images for sale on my site www.gbphotostock.com for you to take a look and see for yourself. Y I guarantee you will end by saying – I could do or that one of those. We also publish a newsletter on the market and can get a link to a free country "Microstock Report Market My Site www.gbphotostock.com per share . About the Author

From the age of sixteen I have worked in the construction industry developing an eye for design and an appreciation of fine architecture. But, my first passion is photography! I gained my Licentiate with The Royal Photographic Society way back in 1988 – A passion that has grown, over the years, into an obsession.
It was inevitable that at some point my two main interests would become one.

Because of my love of buildings, architecture and furniture and drawing on my experience gained in the construction industry feel that I am in a position to take images that fully justify the subject and show a knowledge and commitment of creative photography. However, I do shoot other subjects for my personal use.
I now publish a newsletter aimed at the Microstock Photographer who wants to sell their photos online. Please view my latest stock photography and subscribe to my newsletter at http://www.gbphotostock.com

Granite Grumblings: Life in the Live Free or Die State

Granite Grumblings is about the day-to-day issues of life in New Hampshire and New England, as seen through the eyes of a sometimes cranky, twenty-five-year resident. It is an often humorous, occasionally introspective look at a family, a city and a state seeking to retain their identities in a world where “living free” is increasingly viewed as a curiosity. It is also a collection of or…
